The author

My name is Ahmad Zhafir Bin Yahaya, or just Ahmad for short. I'm a Malaysian currently residing in Germany. I graduated as a Bachelor in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology in Hochschule Düsseldorf. Currently, I'm working as a full-time junior front-end developer at CHECK24 in Munich.

My front-end job experience mainly encompasses HTML, CSS, JavaScript and TypeScript, and of course React, though I do additionally play around with backend stuff or just general programming outside of my working hours. Rust and functional programming in general are the core of my interests. I found DevOps to also be fun due to how many things you have to consider to deploy an application in the outside world. Not a master at everything, just like to dip my toes in them.

I'm also fond of travelling and exploring new places, which is why photography is another hobby of mine. I use my Nikon D3400 to take pictures during my travels. Since processing these images from RAW directly takes quite a while, I don't take photos very often, so you might notice varying levels of quality.

From a technical perspective, this site is made entirely with the Solid Start framework, powered by Solid JS, so this whole site is basically a web-app, server-side rendered with hydration. You can check out the development logs for this site here if you're interested.
